Middle East tensions are adding a ”fear premium” to oil prices, say analysts, as WTI crude and Brent logged their highest settlements since early December 2014 on Wednesday. The day's gains came despite the release of data showing rises in U.S. inventories and production. WTI crude is $66.72; Brent is $71.81 this morning.
